Sensory Garden Renovation

Sensory Garden Renovation

Team Cotswold with Sir A P McCoy, Andre Klein, WellChild staff and volunteers, The Jockey Club and O’Brien-McPherson Racing volunteers.

From 29th May to 2st June Cotswold RDA were delighted to be the recipients of a Helping Hands project by WellChild, which was funded by The Charles Irving Trust. It has been a pleasure working alongside the WellChild team, including volunteers from The Jockey Club abd O’Brien-McPherson Racing. Thank you to everyone who worked hard to complete the project, you are all amazing!

The new area will greatly enhance what we can offer at Cotswold RDA, and we can’t wait to welcome new and returning clients to see it for themselves. Do visit the new garden when you next come to the arena!

Could you help at our charity shop in Longlevens?

If you enjoy meeting new people, shopping AND making a difference please do come along to our recruitment open day at our charity shop in The Midcounties Co-operative Food in Longlevens on Monday 18th October 10am to 2pm. We need more people to join our friendly team of volunteers! If you can spare a few hours each week, this could be the role for you! No experience necessary. We can train you! The Coop charity shop is busy. The sales from the good quality second hand clothing, books and bric a brac are returning between £600 to £700 per week which covers the average costs of a pony for a month! If you have any good quality second hand clothing please do drop to our shop at 35 High Street, Tewkesbury, the arena at Cheltenham Racecourse or at the Longlevens Coop store.

Our Treasurer, Harriet Formby, will then update us on our financial position and reporting and we will review changes to the Board including the election of nominated Trustees.

If you are not already a member, do take this opportunity to join now! It only costs £10 and it will give you not only a vote at our AGM but also admission to discounted events and special members only events. Finally, as you may be aware, Claire Jenkins, our General Manager, will be leaving us in November so following the AGM, you are welcome to join us to wish her farewell. The bar and live entertainment will carry on until 10:30pm.

We really hope you can join us!

Great news from the National Championships!!

We have now had the very exciting news that three of our five riders who qualified for the National Championships have been placed in the top six in their classes and will therefore be shown on the live stream this weekend.

This means that we must watch the live stream to find out their placing – it will be run in reverse order so the excitement will build.

You should follow the link http://www.rda.org.uk/rda-virtual-national-championships to check the times but current information puts them as follows:

Jo in Class 20 at 18.34 on Sat

Rachel class 24 at 13.15 on Sat

Lara class 21 on Sun at 13.30.

They have not yet released the placings for Millie and Jodie which we might not know until the Championship weekend is complete.

The top six for Millie’s class 24 (junior) will be shown at 13.15 on Saturday and Jodie’s class 27 follows on at 14.15.

We are immensely proud of you all and so pleased that we have been able to present such a fabulous team of riders for both the Regional Qualifier and the Nationals with success for both juniors and seniors, and both Countryside Challenge and Dressage.

Thank you all for taking part and representing Cotswold RDA – you practised very hard this summer to get to this exciting place!
