Finance & Governance

Cotswold Riding for the Disabled is an independent charity affiliated to the national Riding for the Disabled Association. We are a registered charity in England & Wales (1160676) and became incorporated in 2014 (company number 09080110).

Cotswold RDA started back in 1965 and today we work with over 200 riders within Gloucestershire using a team of 200 volunteers and more than a dozen ponies.

We are governed by our Board of Directors/Trustees who are responsible for the governance, management and conduct of the charity. They set the strategic direction to build a great future so that more young children and adults can have access to our wonderful services. Based at Cheltenham Racecourse, we have an indoor arena equipped with a hoist for wheelchair users, an outdoor manege, sensory walk, a mechanical horse and a stable block with stabling for 10 ponies.

Our operations cost approximately £225,000 a year. We generate over £70,000 through lesson fees, hiring out the arena and our merchandise. We are able to charge riders a heavily discounted price for their lessons.
