Young Volunteers

Teenagers aged 12 – 18 are welcome to undertake any number of tasks at our stables and arena complex at the Cheltenham Racecourse. This can be grooming, tack cleaning, horse poo picking and helping with the lessons in the arena.

During the lessons, each pony will have a volunteer to lead the pony, and a volunteer to walk on each side of the pony to encourage and give confidence to the rider. There is an induction and training for every role, and health and safety is our first concern for the riders and for the volunteers.

We welcome young people who are already a volunteer with us to complete their Bronze DofE with us, however we apologise but we are unable to accept new volunteers who are looking to complete this. We can accept volunteers who are completing their Silver and Gold Dofe. 

Young volunteers are welcome to volunteer at our After School Club, Saturday’s and in the school holidays.
