Please note we endeavour to fit individuals into classes with people of similar skills and age however due to the size of the waiting list, it is not always possible.

When a place has been allocated, the rider is expected to come every week unless previously booked off, illness or special circumstances prevail.

Opening times

We ride from 10am to 3pm Monday to Thursday during school term time and 9am to 1pm on Sundays during the term. Sessions are 30 minutes in length.

Cost

As we receive no external funding we have to charge for lessons:

Child £2 per session
Adult £5 per session

Please note that unless we receive notification of non-attendance a week in advance (excepting illness), we will charge. Also due to the waiting list, if we do not hear from the rider or their representative for 3 weeks in a row, their place will be reallocated.

Clothing

Riders need to wear either jodhpurs or long trousers, eg track suit bottoms, for comfort. Sturdy boots with a small heel or wellies are best however we have special stirrups in case the rider has the wrong footwear.

Limitations  (under review)
Height – 5ft 10 inches (1.8m) max
Weight – 12 stones (76 kilos) max. This includes the weight of the riding hat and clothes
Age - 4 years old minimum

We have these limitations as we ride ponies rather than horses. The maximum height of the ponies is currently 14’2hh

Rider hoistHoist

We have a hoist for use when riders are unable to be mounted at the ramp.

However there are some riders, that for safety reasons, we can not allow to ride, for example instability. We will however try our best to accommodate everyone.

Rider holidays

We are able to take a few riders on riding holidays during May Bank Holiday week and August Bank Holiday week to Clwyd Riding Centre www.clwydspecialridingcentre.org.uk
